Our Story

… Growing up in the city and moving to the farm I believed there was no difference in home raised beef or food in general than in the big box stores. But after not much time at all I noticed a big difference in the taste, and how my stomach reacted to pure home grown food.

We believe in providing our cattle with a balanced, nutritious diet that promotes their health and produces high-quality beef. Here's a breakdown of our feeding practices:
Early Life: Our calves stay with their mothers for the first 7 to 8 months, primarily drinking milk and gradually introducing grazing.
Post-Weaning Diet: After weaning, we transition our cattle to a carefully balanced diet:
70% Grass / 30% Barley
(1-1/2- 2% of their body weight in rolled barley daily.)
Summer Months: During warmer seasons, our cattle spend most of their time grazing freely on our lush pastures along the scenic river banks. This allows them to enjoy a natural diet rich in diverse grasses and herbs.
Winter Feeding: In the colder months, when pasture grazing isn't possible, we provide our cattle with high-quality bales of alfalfa-brome mix. This ensures they continue to receive proper nutrition year-round.
Our feeding approach combines the benefits of grass-fed cattle with the flavor-enhancing qualities of grain, resulting in beef that's both nutritious and delicious. We're committed to sustainable farming practices that prioritize animal welfare and environmental stewardship.
At our farm we do not use any kind of growth hormones and it is antibiotic free. A common misconception with big level marketing is that some meat contains antibiotics. In Canada it is illegal to sell any meat with antibiotic in their system. All meat in our country purchased is antibiotic free labelled or not. While this doesn't mean some of our animals have never had meds as they have in order to cure them from illness the same as a doctor would prescribe you, what this means is that if an animal is given antibiotics there is a withdrawal period where you cannot harvest the animal, while we don't give meds unless we need to, we do what we need to in order to save the lives of our animals.
